About

Meet Willie Grady

Willie Grady is a Mississippi-born author, award-winning photographer, and writer-director based on the Gulf Coast. He makes work where imagination, empathy, food, culture, and story intersect—books and films that travel from the Mississippi Delta to Kyoto and Tokyo, Medellín and Barranquilla to New Orleans and beyond—always chasing honesty, craft, and a memorable bite of life.

Under the Screenwriter601 Films and Screenwriter601 Publishing banner, Grady writes across multiple lanes: modern cookbooks (High Cuisine: Cannabis Pairings & Platings; Eat Your Liquor: Proof-Positive Cooking at 120 Proof), creative-business guides (Scroll-Stopper Secrets; Conversion Cathedrals), travel and cannabis education (Cannabis: A Journey Inside), and fiction that wears a cinematic grin (Tri-City Temptations; Darkly Yours; The Alibi Game). His images lean cinematic too—quiet, human moments, color-rich city lights, and the patience to wait for just the right shot.

Influenced by Japanese film (Kurosawa), a large library of anime, Southern hospitality, and a philosopher’s curiosity, Grady’s process blends comfort with precision: flavor engineering in the kitchen, visual storytelling behind the lens, and a clean but creatively unpredictable structure on the page. When he isn’t writing or editing photos and hours of film footage, you might find him relaxing on a foreign beach in a hammock as he crafts unconventional philosophical haikus. Otherwise you'll find him framing street scenes, fine-tuning a recipe, or cutting a short film—always building work that’s bold, honest, full of empathy, and built to share.

Explore the books, watch a film clip or three, and wander the photo gallery. If you’re a reader, a foodie, a traveler—or a producer looking for a writer-director with range—you’re in the right place. Savor the experience and leave with something new.
